  • My Book

I completed a book in 2014 entitled; Where Does Art Come From? How to Find Inspiration and Ideas. The book is published by Allworth Press in NYC. The book is available on Amazon as and in many bookstores. It covers the creative process and guides you through your individual process.

  • Bio

I Live and work in Connecticut. I was born in Wisconsin and received a BS in Art Education, an MA in Art and an MFA in Art all from the University of Wisconsin , Madison.

I have taught at the college level since 1977 at numerous colleges and have been a professor Emeritus from Tunxis Community College since 2016. I was a Professor of Art and Program Coordinator of the Visual Fine Art and Photography programs at Tunxis. I was the gallery Director for the Barnes - Franklin Gallery from 2008 to 2106. I was the Department Chair 2001-2004 and in 1996.

I specialized in teaching; painting, drawing, photography, computer art, and three-dimensional art.

In 2010 I was the recipient of the Educational Excellence and Distinguished Service Award, Tunxis Community College (award recognizes extraordinary professional services and significant contributions to the college).

I have exhibited widely throughout the United States and I am an active exhibiting artist.

I have been making art for over 50 years and continue to enjoy the creative process. My evolution from printmaking to painting to computer art reflects a desire to become better at my craft and to satisfy my need for deeper and complex imagery.

My work has become increasingly more introspective over the years yet remains open to new and exciting art forms. "In the beginning I was having a lot of fun and learning new techniques constantly, and deciphering what my images meant. Now, I have fun and mostly know exactly what the images mean. I find inspiration in almost anything, a stone, a twig, my cat, or the way the steam pattern comes off a cup of tea".

My childhood in Wisconsin gave me a strong interest in the landscape which turned into a metaphoric translation of my early experiences. "I had profound experiences when I was a child that drew me to search for spiritual connections. Through creating I found a road that brought me to where I find myself today, meditating and reflecting on my practice through art and writing. I love what I do and am ever grateful for what life has given me".
